Honors & Special Opportunities

UCSB is renowned for its excellence in teaching and research. Not surprisingly, it provides opportunities for undergraduate students to enrich their academic experiences in many ways. Review the following for some great opportunities.

The College Honors Program creates a community of scholars, fostering close ties to faculty and researchers through special honors courses, and providing cultural experiences.

Most Academic Departments offer a senior honors program, and many also sponsor or support student internships. Click here for a directory.

Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities

The Education Abroad Program offers international study programs in cooperation with over 130 host universities in 54 countries.

Career Services helps students put their learning into practice and prepare for careers by placing them in internships, listing internships in other locales, and helping them develop internships where none may yet exist.

The Educational Opportunity Program supports first-generation and low-income students in fully joining the UCSB community.

The Office of Student Life sponsors student leadership programs and schedules many co-curricular activities.

The Community Affairs Board is a center for volunteer activity.

UCSB students may study for a quarter at another campus of the University of California through the Intercampus Visitor Program. Consult the Office of the Registrar for details.
